Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our pressure washing and soft washing services.

General Questions

Pressure washing uses high-pressure water (typically 2500-4000 PSI) to blast away dirt, grime, and stains. It's ideal for hard, durable surfaces like concrete driveways, sidewalks, and brick.

Soft washing uses low pressure (under 500 PSI) combined with specialized biodegradable cleaning solutions. This method is safer for delicate surfaces like vinyl siding, stucco, painted wood, and roofing materials.

House Washing Questions

In Louisiana's humid climate, we recommend professional house washing every 12-18 months. However, several factors may require more frequent cleaning:

  • Homes in heavily shaded areas
  • Properties near water or with irrigation systems
  • Houses with north-facing walls that stay damp
  • Areas with high pollen or dust

Regular cleaning not only keeps your home looking great but also protects your siding from damage caused by mold, mildew, and algae.

Not when done properly! That's why we use soft washing for most siding types. High pressure can damage vinyl (causing cracks or water intrusion), strip paint from wood, and harm other delicate materials.

Our soft wash method uses professional-grade cleaning solutions and low pressure to safely clean your siding without risk of damage. We're trained to know exactly what method and pressure level is appropriate for each surface.

We take careful precautions to protect your landscaping. Our process includes:

  • Pre-wetting all plants and grass before we begin
  • Using plant-safe, biodegradable cleaning solutions
  • Rinsing plants thoroughly after cleaning
  • Avoiding direct spray on delicate plants

Damage to plants is extremely rare when working with professionals who understand proper technique.

Roof Cleaning Questions

Those dark streaks are caused by a type of algae called Gloeocapsa magma. This algae feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles and thrives in Louisiana's humid climate.

Left untreated, roof algae can:

  • Make your roof absorb more heat, increasing cooling costs
  • Shorten the lifespan of your shingles
  • Spread to other surfaces on your property
  • Significantly reduce your home's curb appeal

Professional soft washing removes the algae and prevents regrowth for years.

We ONLY use soft washing for roof cleaning—never high pressure. High-pressure washing can destroy shingles by blasting away the protective granules, voiding your warranty, and causing leaks.

Our soft wash method is the same approach recommended by shingle manufacturers like GAF and CertainTeed. It effectively kills and removes algae, moss, and lichen without harming your roof.

Scheduling & Process

Most residential jobs take 2-4 hours depending on the size of the area and services requested. Here are some typical timeframes:

  • House washing: 2-4 hours for average-sized home
  • Driveway cleaning: 1-2 hours
  • Roof cleaning: 2-3 hours
  • Full property (house, driveway, sidewalks): 4-6 hours

We'll provide a time estimate along with your free quote so you know what to expect.

No, you don't need to be home as long as we have access to the areas being cleaned and a water source. Many of our customers are at work during their appointment.

We do ask that you:

  • Move vehicles out of the driveway if it's being cleaned
  • Secure pets inside
  • Close all windows and doors

We'll contact you when we're finished and send photos of the completed work.

Light rain usually doesn't affect our work—we're using water anyway! However, we will reschedule if there's heavy rain, lightning, or severe weather for safety reasons.

If we need to reschedule due to weather, we'll contact you as soon as possible to find a new time that works for your schedule.
